Femoro-Acetabular Impingement (FAI) is a hip joint disease which affects and impairs the range of hip motion during performing activities of daily living, jogging, walking, or climbing stairs due to the bony abnormalities of the joint. We introduce our ongoing medical project covering 2D/3D segmentation, modeling, center of rotation and range of motion. We discuss how we can use Computer Assisted modeling, simulation and visualization to help medical doctors for pre-operative planning, training, and analysis.

Prof. WonSook Lee is an Associate Professor from School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering, University of Ottawa. She has obtained her degrees from South Korea, Singapore, Switzerland in Mathematics and Computer Science and has worked in Korea Telecom (South Korea), Eyematic Interfaces (USA), and Samsung Advanced Research Center (South Korea) before coming to Canada. Her research area includes Computer Graphics and Animation applying in various applications of Human modeling and Animation, Face Recognition, Computer Game, Haptics, Medical Imaging and Virtual Reality.
