abstract

The rapid adoption of electronic health records in hospitals throughout North America over the last decade has created tremendous opportunities for digital tools to aid in patient care. At the same time, the volume, quality, and disparate nature of the digital health data poses its own set of challenges - and even simple clinical metrics can reveal surprises when viewed in the context of a larger data-set. This presentation will discuss one successful approach to validating 'soft' clinical data and fusing it with 'hard' clinical data to provide powerful real-time insights into a patient's condition.
